I received word on Monday from Melissa Moreno at Woodland Community College that national award winning poet and children's author Francisco X. Alarcón has died. Moreno writes, quite correctly I feel, that the reach of Alarcón was felt nationally as well as locally.
A resident of Yolo County and faculty of UC Davis, Alarcón died last Friday.
